Since retiring from publishing/graphic design I have revisited skills acquired from my Fine Art painting degree but I now ‘paint’ using vintage reclaimed fabrics and thread. I’m inspired by the domestic, by ephemera, and old family photographs. I create new and playful narratives and landscapes using a combination of applique, transfer printing, and add detail with decorative hand-embroidery. Another theme is a collage/watercolour series on the moths of the British Isles. My preference is for a worn, faded aesthetic, highlighting forgotten texts and images. Member of South Oxford Arts.
